I intend to investigate the word ‘boundaries’ by focusing on the boundaries between physical and imagined spaces.I intend to achieve this by visiting locations that represent the border two different places, or areas for example a road, or county boundary. The map as an object will be a crucial part of my project both as a way of finding a location and to represent how they can divide areas.
After seeing the work of Vladimir Migutin who specialises in infra-red (IR) photography I was inspired to attempt to use IR photography in my own work, allowing me to see things beyond the boundaries of human sight.
In addition, using visual trickery, and my interest in drone photography, I would like to attempt to capture shots using aerial photography to illustrate how we can visualise boundaries but manipulate them to create strange, surreal type landscapes.
INCEPTION STYLE WORK
Initially I wanted to start straight away with full spectrum photography. The modified Cannon EOS 1100D, that has had its glass replaced with a special piece of glass treated to allow the full light spectrum to be captured onto the camera.
However in order to use the camera to its full potential its required to use a UV filter in combination with a variable IR filter. This allows we to select as much infra-red light to be captured as I feel the
Drone shots
– FLIP
This can be achieved on both still images and on drone footage. The image is achieved by mirroring the still images. The same affect can be made on moving footage using premier pro

– FOLD
Again this can be achieved on both still images and footage. The still is achieved by creating two mirror images on either side of the frame. However this effect look most impressive on moving areal footage, this again is accomplished in premier pro and I will delve into more detail later.
