California Country Park

This location was recommended to me by someone who lived locally who said “it was the most picturesque location for miles” and to some extent I have to agree. This spot was more challenging to photograph because it had so much to capture vertically. I knew realistically the clouds would move to fast to capture the whole image seamlessly so I decided that I would focus solely on the trees as they wouldn’t move as much as I took the 43 images necessary to make this photo merge. Capturing my images in this was meant the merge again came out in a very un-uniform manor. However I really like the effect this has on the final image, the mixture of curved and straight edges create a wrapped around landscape feeling.

Its hard to get a sense of how wide a field of view is visible in this image, but to highlight the road you see in the left hand side of the image is perfectly straight and leads off on the right side, making the image at least 180 degrees field of view, compared to peoples field of view which is 114 degrees. meaning without this photo merge this landscape wouldn’t be interlay visible all at once. Further highlighting the boundaries of human sight.

I regret not capturing enough of the sky in this images as the unevenness off this image does not fit the landscape at all and juxtaposes the calm and relaxed environment. However I wasn’t prepared to crop the image as it would no longer match the other images. Despite the shape I still really like the image because of how deep and dark the red is in the sky and how light the trees and grass are. They are a brilliant white and a dark grey.
